And always a great source of inspiration, you can definitely add any learned tips to your beauty arsenal for future reference. For game-changing advice that will truly wow you, here’s ten expert hacks you probably never knew existed.

Use Eye Gel Pads For Flawless Makeup Application

When it comes to mastering a perfect smokey eye, loose powders and shadows can often linger in places where they shouldn't. But in using eye gel pads under your eyes during makeup application, you can expect to keep eyes protected from any straying products.

“I recommend placing skyn ICELAND Gels ($30) under the eyes while applying makeup,” explains Ashley Walsh, Department Head of Makeup for MTV's new series Scream. “This allows any loose or flaking powder remnants from shadow or mascara to fall onto the patch, with no cleanup required.”

Use Powdered Ice Tea As A Lip Stain

If you’re one for trying out fun and quirky beauty experiments, making your very own lip stain will surely get those creative juices flowing. And boasting long staying power, all you need is a powdered ice tea pack, and a cotton swab for best results.

"Use a powered ice tea or crystal lite sugar pack as a lip stain,” says Jamie Greenberg, celebrity makeup artist and host of “Pretty little Pranksters” on Michelle Phan’s ICON Network. “The best way to apply is to dampen a cotton swab and make sure your lips are totally dry of any emollients, and then dab the power on your lips.”

Try Vaseline For Fine Lines

While a solid wrinkle regimen is thought to ward away fine line and wrinkles, temporary fixes like Vaseline can definitely offer some short term relief. To conceal fine lines for a few hours, experts like dermatologist Dr. Neal Schultz recommend using Vaseline, while rubbing fine lines firmly for five hours.

“Rubbing the eye area’s fine lines firmly for five minutes with Vaseline temporarily takes away said fine lines (for a few hours) because of a small amount of swelling that temporarily fills in the lines,” suggests Dr. Neal Schultz, New York dermatologist, host of DermTV.com and creator of BeautyRx by Dr. Schultz. “The mild pinkness from rubbing fades in five to ten minutes, but the mild line filling swelling lasts hours.”

Exfoliate With Baking Soda

For radiant and refreshed skin, creating a facial and body scrub with Arm & Hammer Baking Soda can be an effective and equally non toxic. For your very own at-home facial, simply whip up a paste of three parts Arm & Hammer Baking Soda to one part water. Then, rub in a gentle circular motion to exfoliate skin and remove dead skin cells. Finally, rinse your face clean with warm water.

Use A Spoon as a Lash Curler

When traveling, it may be hard to pack up all your beauty essentials. However, if you find yourself lacking a lash curler, using a spoon definitely can step in and give your lashes added volume.

“Turn your spoon horizontally, and sandwich your lashes between your thumb and the rounded edge of the spoon and curl from the root,” says Lori Leib, Creative Director of cosmetic brand Bodyography. “Once the lashes are curled, put the round scoop of the spoon over your lid, and apply mascara. This will keep the mascara from smudging onto your lid.”

Cover Greys With Mascara

It can be difficult to cover pesky grey in between dye jobs, so for a fast fix that’s totally reliable, using mascara can cover greys, while also providing coverage for thinning hair.

“Take a light formula waterproof mascara in either a basic black or brown shade, and lightly comb through,” says celebrity makeup artist Brandie Hopstein. “I use this trick when clients need a quick fix to cover grays or highlights.”

Try Hot Lemon Water

Achieving beautiful, radiant skin takes more than just a good facial cream and serums. For a tip that helps perfect your skin from the inside out, sipping on hot lemon water daily can help carry toxins out of the body.

“Hot lemon water is actress Eva Mendes’ favorite beauty secret,” states JoAnn Solomon, celebrity makeup artist and beauty expert. “Sipping this mixture daily helps to carry toxins out of the body, and gives the most gorgeous glow to the skin.”

Load Up On Vitamin C

Another crucial part of a healthy skin regimen comes vitamin C, which boasts benefits of skin reparation and natural defense against fine lines and wrinkles. And while you can buy vitamin C creams and scrubs, consuming vitamin C rich foods like oranges and broccoli also counts.

“Vitamin C helps your skin naturally repair itself and slows the rate of free-radical damage, says says Christina Flach, CEO of Pretty Girl Makeup. “In addition to creating scar tissue and ligaments, vitamin C works great against fine lines and wrinkles as well.”

Get Softer Soles

Tired of trying endless foot creams for dried and cracked soles? For softer feet, look no further than coconut oil to soften and smooth your soles while you snooze.

“Leave coconut oil on your feet for at least two hours, or during your sleep cycle,” says Dr. Mona Vand. “The next morning you will feel a difference, and see some results within a day. For best results apply the coconut oil one or two times a week.”

Get Frizz-Free Locks

To get a gorgeous blowout without the frizz, allowing the hair to cool while still on a round brush, helps locks in shine, and keeps annoying flyaways at bay.

"To minimize frizz, blow-dry hair from root to end, allowing hair to cool while still on the brush. This smooths the hair cuticle and seals it, locking in the shine,” explains Rodney Cutler, Owner of Cutler Salons.
